Flowering Kale

We had two of these flowing kales last Fall and they lasted in the garage all winter. They sat on the floor next to a window where they got a lot of morning sun and got watered once a week. It was nice to see a live garden plant throughout the winter.

I forgot to mention that they are edible also although I have never ate them. I imagine they taste just like regular kale or some form of it.

Christine, do you mean that you see them in gardens all winter? Mine always die out after a hard freeze that's why I keep them in the garage now. Are you located in a warmer state on the east coast?

This winter was brutal, so pretty much everything froze. I'm not sure if you would consider NY on of the warmer states on the east coast.
