What is your favorite go to crockpot cookbook?

I love the Fix It & Forget IT serie. I have several of their books. I also have a file on the computer of recipes I've found from all over. I have them sorted by main ingredient or style so when I want a recipe for a particular thing, I can find it quickly.

Do you like to cook ahead and put meals in the freezer?

I had a freezer for about 15 years and it just recently died. I miss being able to make meals ahead and freeze them. I use to do a weekend of batch cooking and then separate the meals into gallon freezer bags. I had a whole menu that included roasted, crock pot and stove top cooking. I also...

    Adapting Recipes for the Crockpot

The same is true for recipes that call for rice, like chicken & rice or chicken rice soup. Use cooked rice and add it during the last 20-30 mins otherwise it is just. mush.

    Crock Pots

I've had a couple go out on me after just a few weeks. These were the kind with lots of fancy features, the programmable ones. The old fashioned ones with a single knob and the choices of 'high', 'low' or 'off' seem to work best lol

Different Ways Of Preparing Pork Chops?

I splash some Worcestershire or Soy Sauce on them and then sprinkle some Seasoned Salt on them. Then I pan fry them for a few minutes, searing each side. My family loves them this way.

Steaming Vegetables while Cooking Stew - ALL in the Crock Pot!

I have never tried this but I will now. That is pure genius! I have a steamer but why run two appliances when 1 can do the job. Great idea!

Do you use plastic tupperware and containers?

I have heard this too. I sold Tupperware for many years and some of their products are not meant for the microwave. I have seen how the plastic can melt and I'm sure it gets into our food. I haven't made the switch to glass other than when actually microwaving. I still use the Tupperware for...
